I just need you all to know this
I’m at Farley’s East in downtown Oakland, my favorite little coffee shop near my neighborhood. In their bathroom, they have a giant black chalkboard on one wall, and they always ask questions and encourage people to write or draw their answers. Today, the question is “What would you like to see in 2012?”
There are a lot of great responses. End corporate personhood. A lively and boisterous downtown Oakland. More money for public schools in Oakland. Taking money out of the politics with higher regulation of campaign spending. It’s actually really impressive.
And then, someone wrote in all-caps along the top of the chalkboard:
